During questioning, the suspects admitted to the robbery and murder of Anthony Igoroko Omowho at Ekredjebor on November 11, 2025. They confessed to robbing him and his wife, following him to Saint Nicholas Hospital, and stabbing him to death after stealing from the nurses on duty. They also admitted to robbing a POS operator and her husband on the same day, causing injuries and sexually assaulting the victim's 18-year-old sister-in-law. Initial investigations led the operatives deeper into the bush, where they found: 2 locally made long guns, 23 live bullets, 3 locally made short guns, and 2 Lexus 350 Jeep keys, which helped locate the victim's vehicle with registration number KUJ 788 DR. While leaving the bush, the operatives were attacked by suspected gang members but managed to repel the assault using superior weapons. During the confrontation, the four suspects were shot by the escaping criminals and later confirmed dead at Ughelli General Hospital. Unfortunately, a police officer was injured in the incident and is currently receiving medical care. Meanwhile, the bodies of the suspects have been taken to the morgue, and the investigation is still continuing.

In a separate update, the PPRO stated that on November 18, 2025, around 4 p.m., the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for the Agbarho division was informed of a report that, during the early hours of the same day at approximately 3 a.m., five armed individuals forcibly entered a house located in the Uvwiama new layout within the Agbarho community while the residents were asleep.

He mentioned that two of the suspects are accused of entering the bedroom, while three additional individuals remained on watch outside.

Reportedly, the armed suspects shot through the window after seeing the occupant holding a machete for self-defense. A 43-inch Hisense television and other electronic devices were damaged in the incident. Upon receiving the report, DPO CSP Pius Eredei promptly sent operatives and organized an immediate response, collaborating closely with the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN). Through continuous search efforts in the area, the team managed to arrest Victor Peculiar (m), 19 years old, considered a major suspect in the attack, and also recovered a locally made double-barrel short gun during subsequent investigations. The suspect is currently in custody and has provided helpful information. Initial investigations are still underway.

In the meantime, CP Abaniwonda has characterized the advancements as a clear indication of the Command's improved operational skills and its firm position against violent lawbreakers.

He called on locals to stay alert and keep supplying the police with prompt and reliable details, promising that every report will be handled with complete secrecy.
