House Dems Leak Emails Linking Trump to Epstein

Members of the U.S. House Oversight Committee, who are Democrats, revealed on the 12th that they have found three emails indicating that U.S. President Donald Trump might have known about and participated in the crimes committed by the late Jeffrey Epstein, a man convicted of trafficking minors. In messages to his associate, Epstein reportedly stated that a victim "spent several hours at my house with him (Trump)" and that "he has never been mentioned." The Epstein controversy, which has followed Trump since his presidential campaign, is anticipated to have a major effect on the political scene. Democrats are also urging for the complete disclosure of the so-called 'Epstein Files.' Trump responded by accusing Democrats of using "false information" to shift focus from the recent government shutdown.
The emails made public by Democrats contain a message from Epstein to his girlfriend and co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell, dated April 2011, in which he mentions that an unidentified victim "spent several hours at my house with him" and "he has never been mentioned." He further wrote, "I hope you will note that the dog that hasn’t barked is Trump," to which Maxwell responded, "I was thinking the same." Maxwell, who is currently serving time in prison, told Todd Blanch, the Deputy Minister of Justice, during a July meeting that Trump had no direct role in Epstein's offenses. This has led to speculation about a possible pardon, with Democratic officials referencing an anonymous source suggesting Maxwell intends to formally ask for a reduction in Trump's sentence.

Epstein had a conversation with journalist and author Michael Wolff in December 2015, when Trump was entering the presidential campaign. Wolff reportedly warned, “If Trump claims he never used your plane or visited your home, it could be used against him or make him obligated.” In a January 2019 email to Wolff, just before his arrest, Epstein wrote, “He knew about the girls.” Given that Epstein's victims were several underage girls, this statement might suggest Trump's knowledge, leading to continuous debate. Rep. Robert Garcia, the Democratic staff director of the House Oversight Committee, said, “This raises obvious questions about the connection between Epstein and the President.”
A billionaire hedge fund manager, Epstein is regarded as one of the most notorious sex traffickers in American history. He was accused of forcing at least 36 minors into sexual servitude for political and business leaders at his Manhattan and Palm Beach properties between 2001 and 2006, and he died by suicide while in a New York prison in August 2019. Former President Bill Clinton, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, and Prince Andrew of Britain came under investigation because of their connections to Epstein, with Trump also being linked. Within the MAGA (Make America Great Again) group, calls to reveal the 'Epstein List' have continued, but Trump has repeatedly avoided the issue or supported conspiracy theories. After becoming president, he released classified information about Martin Luther King Jr. and claimed that former President Barack Obama was behind the "Russia Gate" scandal.

On his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump stated, “Democrats will do anything to divert attention from their failures on matters such as the government shutdown, so they’re bringing up the Epstein hoax again.” Karoline Leavitt, a White House spokesperson, called this a “false effort to steer focus away from Trump’s remarkable accomplishments” and mentioned that the individual who supposedly spent time at Epstein’s residence had “consistently said Trump was very kind.” Leavitt also mentioned during a press conference that Trump “has never behaved inappropriately” concerning the allegations. When asked if Trump is thinking about granting a pardon or reducing Maxwell’s sentence, who made statements supporting him, she responded, “It is not being considered right now.” Steven Cheung, Director of Communications, referred to Epstein as a “disgusting person” who was banned from Mar-a-Lago.
