The fifth iteration of the Peace Anyiam-Osigwe Nigeria Digital Content Regulation Conference took place from Tuesday, November 18, 2025, to Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in Lagos, Nigeria.
The fifth edition, which is the second one since Dr. Shaibu Husseini became the executive director of the National Films and Videos Censors Board, took place with much fanfare and excitement inside the Shell Hall at the Muson Centre over the course of two days, from 9am to 6pm.
The event featured a comprehensive roster of Nigerian film and television professionals, including actors, producers, directors, screenwriters, and numerous other industry participants.
The 2025 conference began with the theme: From Volume to Value: The future of the Nigerian film industry in the digital era, as filmmaker and culture and art enthusiast, Bolanle Austen Peters delivered the opening address.
Although the Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musawa, was not present at the event, she was represented by actor and Director General of the Nigerian Film Corporation, Dr. Ali Nuhu. Notable attendees at the two-day event included Dr. Shaibu Husseini, the wife of the Ooni of Ife, Olori Temitope Enita Ogunwusi, members of the late Peace Anyiam-Osiwe, Dr. Raymond Anyiam Osigwe, George Anyiam-Osigwe, Kennedy Anyiam-Osigwe, Bolanle Austen-Peters, Stephanie Linus, Chief Emeka Ossia, Mahmood Alli-Balogun, Saidi Balogun, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Abdullahi, Makinde Adeniran, Femi Durojaiye, Uzodima Okpechi, Yinka Ogun, Moses Babatope, Patrick Lee, Zulumoke Oyibo, Emmanuel Kalu Uduma, Blessing Agofure, John Ukpa, Bunmi Ajakaiye, Imade Bibowei- Osuobeni, Amb. Blessing Ebiegieson, and Misola Iyun, among many others.
A standout moment on the first day of the two-day event was when filmmaker and art/culture enthusiast, Bolanle Austen Peters, was recognized by the NFVCB for her significant impact on the development of the Nigerian film sector. Known affectionately as BAP, she was overwhelmed with happiness upon receiving the award plaque and a big portrait, surrounded by applause and praise from the large crowd. She conveyed her delight at the recognition and pledged to keep working harder to elevate the film industry even further.
Other prize recipients are Joy Odiete, Femi Odugbemi, Funke Akindele, Cinemax, Filmone, Moses Babatope, Chioma Ude, and the popular film, 'Gingerrr.'
The first day featured panel discussions that explored the development, obstacles, and route to achieving a more fulfilling and internationally recognized cinema sector.
A total of 23 film professionals, who reached the ages of 50 and 60 respectively, were recognized and given a luxurious reception at the Shell Hall of the Muson Centre by the NFVCB management, headed by Executive Director Dr. Shaibu Husseini.
The professionals listed are Taiwo Adeleye, Saeed Mohammed, Ronnie Dikko, Seyi Siwoku, Aquila Njamah, Bond Emoruwa, Chimdi Chiama, Segun Arinze, AMB. Ngozi Ezeonu, Hafiz Bello, Lillian Ama-Aluko, Dr. Ahmad Sarari, Francis Onwochei, Princess Teju Agunlejika, Adebayo Tijani, Sir Kingsley Ogoro, Hon Desmond Elliot, Ali Baba, Rita Dominic, Sam Dede, Eucharia Anunobi, Chief Jude Chukwuka, and Chief Steve Gukas.
