The Ekiti State Government has stated that the economic reforms and agricultural programs under Governor Biodun Oyebanji's leadership are producing clear and beneficial outcomes.
In response to the latest inflation data published by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) for October 2025, the Governor's Special Adviser on Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, stated in a press release distributed to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, emphasizing that the state is following a well-defined route toward economic stability and continuous progress.
Olatunbosun credited the elevated year-over-year inflation numbers published by the NBS primarily to long-standing and historical issues that have kept Ekiti in this situation for many years, highlighting that progress typically requires time before it is clearly reflected in the yearly statistics.
Highlighting that the month-on-month inflation data, which compares September with October 2025, reflect real improvement, with Ekiti placing 4th among states experiencing the lowest month-on-month inflation, Olatunbosun mentioned that this trend signifies that the economic measures taken by the current government are starting to produce favorable outcomes.
The statement says, “However, the positive news is that the month-over-month inflation data, comparing September with October 2025, indicates real improvement.”

The country's core inflation rate remained unchanged at 1.42%, and Ekiti's results indicate that we are following this stabilization pattern.
He mentioned that the most recent data indicates a change in the factors contributing to inflation within the state, stating, "In contrast to earlier months where food inflation was the main issue, the present pressure is coming from non-food areas like housing, transportation, and electricity."
The State experienced a 4.8% drop in food inflation, and while Ekiti still holds the 3rd position in national year-on-year food inflation, the trend indicates significant improvement.
Olatunbosun pointed out that the progress is a direct outcome of the government's continuous funding and changes in vital areas such as farming, transportation, and the trading system.
He pledged to residents that as these policies become more established, the positive monthly improvement will eventually lead to a decline in annual inflation.
He also showed approval that multiple federal roads, which had previously caused elevated logistics expenses and supply issues in the state, are now being addressed. He mentioned that as road upgrades continue, transportation costs will decrease, helping to lower market prices throughout Ekiti in the coming months.
Reaffirming the current administration's dedication to the well-being of the state's residents, maintaining stable prices, aiding farmers and enterprises, and making sure the economy grows stronger and more robust, Olatunbosun pledged that "there is hope on the horizon, and we will keep this positive trend going until it is clearly shown in both immediate and future inflation measures."
