United Nigeria Airlines Forgiven VDM, Mr Jollof Post-Flight Conflict
PREMIUM TIMES stated that VDM and Mr Jollof had a fierce argument on Monday as they were boarding a flight from Asaba, Delta State, to Lagos.
The United Nigeria Airlines has responded to the apology videos posted by Martins "VeryDarkMan (VDM)" Otse and comedian Freedom "Mr Jollof" Atsepoyi after their recent conflict this week.
PREMIUM TIMES reportedVDM and Mr Jollof had a fierce argument on Monday while boarding a flight departing from Asaba, Delta State, bound for Lagos.
The event caught the notice of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), with its Public Affairs and Consumer Protection Director, Michael Achimugu, openly criticized the actions of both individuals in a post shared on his X page.
He further promised that they would be made responsible and subjected to the complete force of the legal system.
Nevertheless, in videos shared on their individual Instagram accounts on Tuesday, VDM and Mr Jollof expressed regret to the NCAA, the airline, travelers, and Nigerians for their conduct.
Mr. Jollof stated that he responded following provocation from VDM, claiming that the conflict arose from longstanding, unverified accusations of infidelity that VDM leveled against his wife, allegations currently under judicial review.
VDM, in his own defense, acknowledged that while they had not settled their disagreements, no additional conflict would occur aboard a plane.
Airline's reaction
In a statementapproved by its Public Relations Officer, Chibuike Uloka, on Thursday, United Nigeria Airlines recognized and accepted the apologies of the two individuals.
The airline stated that it hopes both individuals will adhere to the commitments they have taken, for the sake of ensuring a secure, respectful, and well-maintained travel atmosphere for every passenger.
United Nigeria Airlines recognizes and accepts the public apologies made by VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof regarding the in-flight conflict that took place during the boarding of Flight UN0523, which was traveling from Asaba International Airport to Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on 17 November 2025.
The airline stated, 'We acknowledge their commitments made through their individual social media platforms to avoid any actions that might jeopardize aviation safety, order, or etiquette on United Nigeria Airlines flights or those of any other carrier.'
Appreciation
The airline thanked the NCAA, Airport Security (AVSEC), other pertinent aviation organizations, and the Asaba International Airport Authority for their quick and well-coordinated response.
It also praised its staff and operational teams for handling the situation in a professional manner and adhering completely to the set safety procedures.
The airline stated, "As an airline, we continue to support the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) and all regulatory authorities in the joint initiative to address disruptive passenger behavior within the aviation industry."
We appeal to travelers to maintain full cooperation with airline staff, security organizations, and airport officials to ensure the protection and safety of air travel within Nigeria.
