Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday commended a new report presented to the US Congress, which acknowledged Pakistan's 'military success' during its four-day conflict with India, stating that the document confirmed Pakistan's power and the effectiveness of its military forces.
"This report provides official confirmation of what our courageous soldiers have accomplished," he stated to a group after laying the foundation stone of a Daanish School in Harri Ghel, Azad Kashmir. Shehbaz Sharif mentioned that the congressional findings, which emphasized the efficiency of Pakistan's modern defense systems during the conflict, demonstrated the 'professional excellence' of the nation's military.

The document, presented to the US Congress by the Washington-based China Economic and Security Review Commission, highlighted Pakistan's actions during the four-day conflict with India as a 'military success,' noting that the clash 'demonstrated Chinese military equipment' in real combat for the first time.
It mentioned that Pakistan's deployment of systems like the HQ-9 air defense system, PL-15 air-to-air missiles, and J-10 fighter jets acted as 'a real-world field test,' noting that Pakistani forces shot down multiple Indian aircraft, including Rafales, in conflicts that later became 'a major promotional tool for Chinese defense exports.' The prime minister stated that Pakistan should now shift its focus from military successes to economic development.
"Having demonstrated our military strength, it is now time to achieve success in the economic domain," he stated. "Nations that fail to develop economically cannot thrive." Sharif took the opportunity to restate Islamabad's dedication to the people of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.
'Pakistan will keep providing its moral, political, and diplomatic support until the Kashmiris are granted their rights,' he stated, showing belief that 'one day, the children from occupied Kashmir will also be able to study in Daanish Schools.' Emphasizing the growth of the Daanish School system, Sharif mentioned that the initiative, which started in Punjab, is now being expanded to Azad Kashmir.
He revealed plans for new campuses in Neelum Valley and forward Kahuta, referring to the effort as a mission aimed at providing equal access to top-notch education.
"This is the institution that will provide underprivileged and orphaned children with the chance to become engineers, doctors, and leaders," he stated. "The vision we had for education is now turning into reality." The prime minister called on the new Azad Kashmir administration to maintain high governance standards and deliver improved public services. "The people of Azad Kashmir are entitled to the best facilities," he added.
In the meantime, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed that every phase of the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines be finished quickly and with openness.
He provided these instructions while presiding over a meeting concerning PIA's matters in Islamabad on Thursday. The Prime Minister directed the officials to create a strategy aimed at boosting the count of operational aircraft within PIA's fleet. He also urged the implementation of steps to guarantee punctual departures of PIA flights.
The meeting received a comprehensive overview of PIA's privatization and the associated business strategy. It was mentioned that four entities have been shortlisted for the privatization of the national airline, with the bidding process expected to commence soon.
It was further informed during the meeting that 75 percent of PIA's shares will be privatized, provided that the name and the theme of the national flag carrier remain unchanged following the privatization.
Concerning the business strategy, the meeting was updated that the count of operational aircraft in PIA's fleet will rise from 18 to 38.
It was observed that, currently, the country's main airline serves thirty cities, and this route network is set to grow beyond forty cities by 2029 according to the plan.
