Otieno was assigned the responsibility of handing over an Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max to a customer when he unfortunately lost his life.
The father of three had his phone ring just after reaching his destination. Several hours later, reports surfaced that he was discovered deceased beneath a bed.
Tony Mwenda, a coworker of the deceased in the delivery sector, recounted their final discussion prior to Otieno's passing.

"He contacted me in the morning, just a few minutes after 9:30 am. He informed me that he had a delivery to complete. The customer was looking for the newest Apple phone. He requested that I obtain the device from another vendor. I visited my friend Ken and acquired the phone for Otieno. As we aren't able to afford such high-end phones and typically don't handle them, I had to borrow it from Ken," he said.
Mwenda handed Otieno the phone to take and sell in order to earn a profit, after which they would settle Ken's debt.
He mentioned that the phone is currently under the control of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and they are uncertain whether they will ever retrieve it.
"We have no idea how we will cover the costs. That's the main difficulty," he added.
