The Och’Idoma and chief ruler of the Idoma Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Agaba’idu Dr Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John, has received the Honorary Doctor of Theology Honoris Causa from Wesley University, Ondo, which the monarch referred to as a divine summons to greater service.
Showing his gratitude, the King stated, "I accept this honor with deep humility and thanks to the Almighty God. I appreciate the Governing Council and Senate of Wesley University for considering my small efforts deserving of this prestigious award. For seventeen years, the University has been a symbol of hope and a creator of ethically strong leaders."
The Deputy Chancellor, Right Reverend Professor Samuel Sunday Obeka, mentioned that the award was presented in acknowledgment of the monarch's dedication to God, his personality, and his guidance. He noted that His Majesty represents "a unique example of spiritual insight, community development, and dedication to national harmony."
