The head of the Nigerian Actors Guild (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has made statements regarding the current marital conflict between actress and director Regina Daniels and her separated husband, Ned Nwoko.
PREMIUM TIMES reportedthat the conflict started in October when claims of domestic violence and substance misuse came to light.
The situation later escalated, along with further allegations of false age claims, drug-related violations, and misuse of authority.
In a declaration published on his Instagram pageOn Thursday, Mr. Rollas stated that he decided to speak up because his name had been brought into the couple's personal problems.
He mentioned that he felt obligated to respond to the accusations and misunderstandings, particularly since he was approaching the conclusion of his time as AGN President.
Statement
Mr. Rollas stated: "Let me start with the issue that many have been urging me to address. Prince Ned Nwoko serves as the Chairman of the Board of Patrons, AGN, and Regina Daniels is a member of the Guild. Regina and her mother are also personally acquainted with me."
As this is essentially a family matter, I have chosen to remain quiet, not due to fear, but with respect. Nevertheless, as the President of AGN, and since my name keeps being mentioned, I need to share my perspective.
For years, the Board of Trustees has let me take the lead in conflicts, while they safeguard their image from the back. Several senior colleagues know the reality of recent occurrences, but they have stayed quiet.
I'm reaching out to those who were there during the final shoot and have full knowledge of the situation: Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, Chinyere Wilfred, Jide Kosoko, and Sanni Danji. All of you were on set during the recent production. You witnessed events personally, particularly concerning Regina, and we all recognize that she requires assistance.
Help
Additionally, Mr Rollas characterized the silence of his colleagues, who were informed about the issue, as unjust, pointing out that it made him susceptible to criticism.
He also shared that he had once seen the legislator express dissatisfaction with the actress's smoking behavior.
While organizing our panel discussion in South Africa, Senator Nwoko contacted me directly and set a requirement that he would only permit Regina to travel if I assured him she wouldn't pass through Lagos. This is the truth, and I am stating it because it has been misrepresented against me multiple times.
"On your son's birthday, Regina was at the staircase of a well-known children's playground in Wuse 2, with your friends and some AGN members, Agility, Nazareth Jesse, and a few of my SSA. Your husband made a comment to you about your smoking habit when you introduced him to a senator's daughter who has daughters. In his words, if you quit smoking, you'll have your own daughter," stated Mr. Rollas.
The president of AGN mentioned that the 64-year-old told him he had already spoken to Regina's family about her smoking.
Mr. Rollas added that Mr. Nwoko contacted him, as he claimed, because Regina had refused to stop smoking.
He stated, "This event was observed; it is not just secondhand information. My intention here is not to embarrass you; rather, my issue is that you require assistance. Several of our members have previously received support, which the Guild played a key role in offering."
It's not illegal to look for assistance. I dislike it when experienced people in the industry approach me from behind, spread negativity about me, yet lack the courage to face me directly.
Enter Regina's mother
Furthermore, Mr Rollas encouraged Regina's mother, Rita Daniels, to focus on her daughter's well-being instead of worrying about the AGN elections.
He emphasized once again that the guild should continue to be a secure and supportive environment for every member.
I say this with respect, but if your daughter's home and well-being are struggling, AGN elections should not be your main concern. Our Guild needs to be a safe environment, and when individuals in leadership roles openly support damaging behaviors as "a celebrity lifestyle," it endangers our younger members.

Ned Nwoko
Furthermore, Mr Rollas expressed disapproval of Mr Nwoko, the Guild's Chairman of the Board of Patrons, for airing his personal marital matters on social media and publicly confronting her.
He also refuted allegations that Mr. Nwoko provided financial support to the AGN, covered the costs of its office, or contributed $200 million to the Guild.
Mr. Rollas stated, "It is inappropriate for a person of your standing to use social media to publicly accuse your wife on an issue I still believe can be resolved internally. I still feel there are more effective methods to address it. Additionally, sir, various incorrect stories about the Guild have been circulating without being addressed. Regina and her mother have consistently asserted that you financed AGN, leased and equipped the office, and contributed $200 million to the Guild."
At the launch of our office, you mentioned that the N200 million was for your wife, not for AGN. The false information spreading everywhere is one of the challenges I'm dealing with while trying to clarify things. You should have informed people that the money was given to your wife for her movie production, not to the Guild.
He warned the public not to reach out to him personally regarding the matter, mentioning that he had silently endured numerous difficulties for many years.
Nevertheless, he maintained that he would not let unfounded claims damage his reputation.
I am speaking now because individuals continue to bring up my name, and the silence from stakeholders is also not aiding the situation. If people opt to stay quiet due to fear of losing the advantages they anticipate, then I will take it upon myself to clear my name, as I have a responsibility to uphold my dignity.
I politely request that no one contact me personally regarding this statement. For many years, I have endured numerous challenges in silence, but I will not let unfounded claims tarnish my reputation. I have given my all in service, and I will depart with my honor preserved.
Regina replies
Actress and director Regina Daniels has, however, responded to Mr. Rollas regarding his recent comments about her, her marriage to her spouse, and her mother.
She maintained that he had no authority to make unfounded remarks about her family.
Regina also mentioned that her mother had consistently praised Rollas and wondered if the AGN President was in a stable mental state.
A 25-year-old stated, "Mr. AGN President, with all due respect, there must be something wrong with you, sir, to suggest I require assistance. As a seasoned actor, from my childhood through my peak years, having seen your inauguration in my early days, I declare you are a disgrace to the presidency, constantly moving from one office to another, enriching yourself under the pretense of supporting actors' well-being. If not, kindly explain why you haven't implemented protections for actors' rights and residuals over the past eight years."
The sole significant effect on the guild is the office you established recently, following seven years, and facing considerable criticism from individuals who were major supporters of my family.
I am aware, so I can confirm that you were paid a small amount to spread nonsense about a child who gained nothing under your leadership, but instead gave you the greatest honor you have ever received through my ex-husband and my mother, so you should be grateful to my mother for introducing you to him.
Swimming
Regina also showed her surprise that Rollas could criticize her mother's political aspirations, even though she had done so much for him.
She also claimed that Rollas regularly supplied women to influential individuals in exchange for personal financial benefits.
Well, I'm not surprised since that's how you earn money, bringing women to my family home multiple times for swimming lessons, which I had warned you about, hence your resentment. In fact, this is what you've consistently done with high-profile men you visit, using women to entice them and thereby increasing your earnings.
"What became of the fatherly figure I respected only because of the admiration and loyalty my mom had for you? I'm still amazed that you would attempt to undermine my mother's election and belittle her work after everything she has done for you. Supporting my mother's election, I believe she has earned her place in the industry and would make an ideal representative for actors," said Regina.
She highlighted that her mother was the best choice to take over as president from Rollas.
"Take it or leave it, the film industry, with the elegance that comes from knowing one's place on screen, requires a beautiful female president supported by experienced male advisors to lead us to any societal level. I don't like nonsense," she said.
