A MarylandA woman who asserts she has died and 'crossed over' several times during medical crises is now revealing what she thinks she discovered while being near death.
Norma Edwards, an 80-year-old spiritual healer and personal mentor, stated that she has experienced clinical flatlining three times in her lifetime.
Two times, she remembered what she called intense experiences in a different dimension, meetings with 'beings of light,' and a strong message she said she was brought back to Earth to share: that existence persists after bodily death.
In 1971, Edwards was 26 years old and residing inLondonwith her then-spouse and offspring during her initial near-death experience (NDE).
She fainted due to undiagnosed issues related to her pregnancy and was quickly taken to the hospital. Medical professionals found out she had suffered a stillbirth and required immediate surgery, but her heart stopped during the procedure.
While physicians struggled to revive her,Edwards stated that she exited her physical form.
She recounted moving through "a pitch-black tunnel" toward bands of color that were "unseen on Earth," then entering what she believed to be pure, glowing light.
She asserted that she witnessed something she compared to a massive screen showing her life, split into what she thinks were the life she had intended, the life she actually experienced, and the result.
As per Edwards, who hails from Guyana, 'each review' indicated that she had not met her intended goal.
A short time later, she stated that she had encountered familiar 'otherworldly' spirits, such as a cherished aunt who was waiting for her by a river, until she was informed that she could not remain and needed to return to Earth with the message that 'life does not end; it changes.'
Returning to her body was 'extremely painful,' she stated.
It was agonizing. It was like attempting to pour a galaxy into a teacup. My spirit is vast, so when you compel that energy back into a small body, it causes pain.
My perception was sharpened and colors resembled music, with radios glowing with light.
I could perceive the inner workings of people's bodies – I believed I was losing my mind. As I passed beneath light bulbs, they would shatter. I couldn't make sense of it.
This deep encounter motivated Edwards to seek education as a spiritual caregiver.
For a span of 27 years, she worked within correctional facilities, providing religious counsel and emotional assistance to those getting ready to rejoin society.
After pursuing her career, Edwards faced another near-death experience in November 2024, as she had a heart attack at her residence in Maryland.
Edwards stated she instantly understood what was occurring—'the tunnel, the shift, the pull toward the other side'—but mentioned she was brought back to life just before she claimed to 'reach Heaven.'
When she went flatline for the second time that morning, she remembered feeling a 'female presence' leading her and was reminded of the same message she said she had received many years before.
Alongside the assurance that life is everlasting, Edwards mentioned she was informed that she still had a purpose to fulfill: assisting others in overcoming fear and embracing life, as well as death, with understanding.
Currently assisting senior populations, Edwards provides aid to individuals approaching the end of their life journey.
She advises individuals not to be afraid of death, but instead to consider it as a change of state.
The spirit does not perish," she remarked. "You are merely transitioning from the body into something more expansive.
Even though she still feels a strong connection to the 'love and wholeness' she experienced during her first near-death experience, and continues to mourn the loss of her baby associated with that medical crisis, Edwards stated she has discovered meaning in assisting others.
"I have gained knowledge from each individual I have assisted," she stated.

Edwards stated that her personal encounters have strengthened her conviction that fear is the biggest challenge facing humanity.
