The hostel in Bali, which is at the center of disturbing mass-poisoning claims, has finally spoken out as alarming new information comes to light from the dormitory where a young traveler lost their life.
The Daily Mail reported this week about tourists who stayed at the affordable Clandestino Hostel in Canggu falling very sick in early September.
Ten individuals were taken to the hospital in severe condition, while a young Chinese traveler named Deqing Zhuoga was discovered deceased next to her bed at the $9-per-night hostel.
Two months after the tragic event, Clandestino has released its initial public comment, stating that the case is still being looked into by the police.
"This has been a very challenging and sensitive situation for all concerned," a representative stated.

Ms. Li further states that in the weeks following her friend's death, the hostel has been managing the situation, prioritizing the prevention of lost reservations over the well-being of its guests.
"They are systematically removing comments on social media, negative online reviews, and blocking anyone who brings it up," she stated.
Balinese authorities state that their investigation reveals hostel employees checked on Ms. Zhuoga the day prior to her passing, with a receptionist expressing concern over her worsening state.
First Inspector Azarul Ahmad from Badung Police stated that security personnel eventually put her in a taxi and escorted her to a nearby clinic. However, after feeling worried about the treatment expenses, she returned to the hostel, where she passed away alone in the dormitory.
Although there was a tragedy, the hostel is still listed on popular booking sites such as Agoda and Booking.com, with one of the photos displaying a disturbing poster on the wall of the six-bed dormitory.

The head of the investigation department at Badung Police, First Inspector Azarul Ahmad, stated on Wednesday that witnesses have been questioned and that the vomit from Ms. Zhuoga was analyzed by the Denpasar Forensic Laboratory.
He stated that no pesticide substances, drugs, cyanide, heavy metals like arsenic, dangerous chemicals, or methanol were found.
A review of the medications and food items in her bag was still to be conducted, he stated, and although an autopsy revealed no indications of physical harm on her body, it did identify clear signs of poisoning from food.
The precise cause of death cannot be confirmed with certainty, but it is possible that death occurred due to gastrointestinal irritation causing diarrhea, which led to dehydration and an imbalance of electrolytes.
On September 2, the hostel's receptionist, Eka Ayu, noticed that Ms Zhuoga had not left.
She opened the door and discovered the young woman lying on her face, dressed only in an open blue shirt.
Police discovered vomit in a trash can next to the bed, and a post-mortem examination determined that her death due to acute gastroenteritis and hypovolemic shock could have been avoided with appropriate medical care.
Ms. Zhuoga had dined together with guest Ms. Li a few hours prior.
Not long after the meal, visitors started collapsing in the corridors, spitting blood, losing consciousness, and pleading the staff for medical assistance.
Over 20 individuals experienced mass poisoning, with a minimum of 10 in severe condition.
By dawn, the illness had spread across the dorms, with several guests taken to nearby medical facilities and the BIMC hospital.
Ms. Li mentioned that when she was taken away by ambulance, her roommate was too sick to move and that she "texted her from the hospital, telling her to leave as well," but she never responded.
"My physician verified that it was due to pesticide and food poisoning," she stated.
I felt better after leaving the hostel, but the symptoms returned when I went back to the room.
She stated that Ms. Zhuoga noted that a neighboring dormitory had been recently shut down for fumigation due to a significant bedbug problem.
Ms. Li, together with travelers Melanie Irene, Alisa Kokonozi, Alahmadi Yousef Mohammed, Cana Clifford Jay, and Leslie Zhao, were subsequently identified as victims in the official Kuta Police report.
Inspector Ahmad has stated that because numerous guests have reported similar symptoms, the hostel will undergo additional scrutiny. However, survivors claim that officials have been excessively delayed and worry that more travelers might be harmed.
"They are attempting to conceal it, and I wish to alert others so this does not occur again," Ms. Li stated.
